This policy covers Unitasker — AI Habit & Goal Planner (Android package dev.contorta.unitasker), published by Contorta Development.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Unitasker ("the app", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Unitasker Android app and the web app at unitasker.contorta.dev.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not create an account or use the app.

2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
Email and password sign-up: your email address, and a password that is stored only by our authentication provider in hashed form.
Google Sign-In: your Google account email address and display name, provided to us by Google when you choose that option.
One-time verification codes may be sent to your email to confirm ownership of the address.
2.2 Content you create
Goals and sub-goals, daily action items, inbox captures, reflection notes, rewards, target dates, and the schedules and goal breakdowns you generate. This content is stored in your account so it is available on any device where you sign in.
2.3 Usage and progress
Streak count, last completion date, total completed actions, productivity level, and badges. These are derived from your own activity in the app and are used to display your progress.
2.4 AI features
When you use the AI goal breakdown or talk to the in-app Coach or Scheduler assistants, the text you provide (goal titles, descriptions, instructions and chat messages), together with the relevant goals and inbox items, is sent to our backend provider and its AI model provider to produce a response. The assistants keep a conversation history and short-term memory tied to your account so they can follow up in context. This data is deleted when you delete the relevant content or your account.
2.5 Advertising (Android, free tier only)
If you are signed in on Android and do not have a paid plan, the app shows a single banner advertisement served by Google AdMob. AdMob and Google's advertising services may access your device's Advertising ID and use the Android Ad Services APIs (ad attribution and topics) to serve, measure, and limit ads and to detect invalid activity. Where required by law (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), the app presents Google's consent form before requesting personalized ads. You can review or change your choice at any time from Settings → Ad privacy choices. The web app and any paid plan do not show ads.
2.6 Purchases
Paid subscriptions are not currently offered. If and when they are enabled, purchases on Android are processed by Google Play Billing. We receive a purchase token and a one-way (SHA-256) hash of your account identifier, which we use only to verify the subscription's status with Google Play and to grant access. We never receive your payment card or bank details. Web subscriptions, if enabled, are processed by Stripe under Stripe's own privacy policy.
2.7 Feedback and support
If you use the in-app feedback form, the subject and message you write are emailed to us together with your account email address so we can reply.
2.8 Device storage
The app stores a login token, your light/dark theme preference, and short-lived sign-in state in your browser's or the app's local storage on your device. This information is not transmitted to us except as the login token used to authenticate your requests. Android device backup for the app is disabled, so this data is not copied to your cloud backup.
2.9 Diagnostics
The app does not include a third-party crash-reporting or product-analytics SDK. Technical error messages may be written to the device log for debugging on your own device. Google's advertising libraries perform their own limited measurement as described in section 2.5.
3. How we use your information
- To create your account and authenticate you.
- To provide, personalize, and synchronize the planning, habit, reflection, and reward features.
- To generate AI goal breakdowns and assistant responses.
- To display advertising to free-tier Android users and to obtain and honor advertising consent where required.
- To verify and manage subscription entitlements (when paid plans are enabled).
- To respond to feedback, support requests, and account-deletion requests.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)
- Performance of a contract — providing the app's features and your account.
- Consent — personalized advertising (via the consent form) and any optional communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — securing the service, preventing fraud and abuse, and responding to your requests.
- Legal obligation — retaining transaction records where the law requires it.
5. Service providers and sub-processors
- Base44 — application backend, authentication, database, serverless functions, and the AI model gateway used for goal breakdown and the assistants. Your account data and content are stored on Base44's cloud infrastructure.
- Google — AdMob and User Messaging Platform — serves the Android banner ad and the consent form. See Google's policy for partner sites and apps (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites) and how Google uses advertising data (https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543).
- Google Play Billing — processes any Android subscription purchases.
- Stripe — processes any web subscription purchases (when enabled).
- Google Fonts — the web font files are requested from Google's font CDN, which receives your IP address as part of serving those files.
These providers process data on our instructions or, for advertising and payments, as independent controllers for their own described purposes. We do not authorize them to use your content for unrelated purposes.
6. Data retention
- Account data, content, progress, and AI conversation history are kept until you delete them or delete your account.
- When you delete your account, this data is removed promptly (see section 8).
- Purchase and transaction records may be retained for up to the period required by applicable tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention law.
- Feedback emails are retained for as long as needed to handle the request and for a reasonable period afterward for reference.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:
- Access and edit most of your data directly in the app.
- Delete your account and data as described in section 8.
- Manage advertising consent from Settings → Ad privacy choices (shown where a consent choice applies).
- Contact us at the address in section 12 to exercise any other right.
EEA / UK: you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. California: we do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. You may request access or deletion and will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
8. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and all associated content:
- In the app: Settings → Danger zone → Delete my account.
- On the web: contorta.dev/unitasker/delete-account.
- By email: if you cannot sign in, email us from your account email address and we will verify and delete the account within 30 days.
Deletion removes your account and sign-in identity, your goals, action items, inbox notes, reflections, schedules, progress data, and AI conversation history and assistant memory. Purchase records may be retained where required as described in section 6.
9. Data security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on our providers' managed infrastructure with access controls. Entitlement and role fields cannot be modified from the client. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International data transfers
Our providers operate globally, and your information may be processed in and transferred to countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, such transfers rely on appropriate safeguards (for example the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
11. Children
Unitasker is not directed to children. It is intended for users who are at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in their country (for example 16 in parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, communicated in the app. Continued use of Unitasker after an update means you accept the revised policy.
